Sky has Berkeley roots, and a devoted following here in our shops. So when they lost almost everything in the recent Napa fires, we renewed our vows. Atop Napa’s famed Mt. Veeder, they’ve always been a bit special -- kinda like a funky old Volkswagen in Napa’s Range Rover jungle. Mountain fruit of any varietal is always a bit more soulful than the floor grown stuff, and Sky’s could be Exhibit A in that brief: black fruits with pretty lavender whiffs and some of that Syrah smokey-tarryness in the background.
