Barone Ricasoli Brolio Chianti Classico DOCG Sangiovese
The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for 9 months in tonneaux of second and third passage, resulting in a bright ruby red color and a balanced structure. The nose is elegant and floral, with notes of violets, roses, figs, and plums. The palate is savory and umami, with hints of balsamic vinegar and tar. The finish is long and smooth, with fine tannins and a refreshing acidity.
This wine is perfect to pair with typical Italian dishes, such as pasta, pizza, cheese, and meat. It can also be enjoyed on its own, as a sipper or an aperitif. It is best served at 16-18°C (60-64°F) and decanted for at least 30 minutes before drinking.
Barone Ricasoli is the oldest winery in Italy and one of the four oldest in the world. It has been producing wine since 1141, and has been instrumental in defining the Chianti Classico style and regulations. The Brolio label is the flagship wine of the estate, representing its tradition and innovation.
