Though made as a teaching toy for kids,  this toy is just as lovely as a sculptural object, with these great painted wood nuts and bolts that can be arranged in different permutations and at different heights on the threaded wood center. Great on the table or desk (I think perhaps a useful stress reliever or thinking device), displayed on the book shelf--or, of course, for the kids! 

With the original box, including printed booklet showing an array of Teach a Tot Toy's educational products, manufactured by Cappel MacDonald, Dayton, Ohio, c. 1950s-60s. Excellent condition, with the only sign of age/use being a couple of prices written in pencil on one side of the box. Box measures 8" x5 1/8" x 4 5/8". Toy measures 8" x4" x 4".
