A very folky old St. Elizabeth icon, with cutout engraving decorated with collaged bits of gold, copper, and blue foil, all housed under glass and backed with wood. I'm not entirely sure what that dense cluster of gold foil at the feet of Elizebeth is obscuring, but looks like divine flames licking her feet to me! And perhaps the curious shape of the whole thing is meant to evoke the holy trinity (sort of in the form of a triquetra?) I believe this Elizabeth(a) is Elizabeth of Hungary, typically shown in fur cloak and crown, and known as patroness of those including beggars, brides, charitable workers, hospitals, and falsely accused people, so certainly her presence is most welcome. Late 19th/early 20th c. I believe.
