Product Highlights:

• The Stone: This is quartz with blue mineral inclusions, often called blue rutilated quartz. The deep blue-grey color and visible needle-like structures inside each bead come from dumortierite. This is an aluminum borosilicate mineral named after French paleontologist Eugène Dumortier. Each bead is completely unique. Some are darker, some lighter, and some show more visible needles than others. Set between sterling silver disc spacers and finished with a sterling silver clasp.
• History: Quartz itself is one of the most ancient stones used by humans. It has been shaped into tools, weapons, and ritual objects for over 100,000 years. The ancient Greeks called it krystallos, meaning ice, because they believed it was water frozen so deeply it could never melt. Throughout history, quartz has been a foundation stone of human civilization. Dumortierite quartz has no ancient history of its own. It is a geological accident. It exists because two minerals grew together under high pressure deep in metamorphic rock.
• The Belief: In modern crystal practice, quartz is considered the master healer, said to amplify the energy of any stone it is paired with. Dumortierite specifically is said to strengthen mental clarity, patience, and self-discipline. It is sometimes called the "stone of order" for its reputation in helping the wearer organize thoughts and complete difficult tasks.
