"LIGHTNESS AND BEING" -Photograph of crystalline phenylethylamine, which is found in chocolate."Lightness and Being" has a beautiful meditative quality reminiscent of mountains shrouded in mist. The image was created by first growing the crystals on a glass microscope slide by evaporation from a solution, then magnified thousands then photographed through a microscope. Refraction of the illuminating white light passing through the prism like crystalline matrix creates the colors.
