I'm really smitten with this sweet little "naive" pencil drawing of a hillside village, one of two in the shop that came from a larger collection of drawings executed by the artist on a Grand Tour encompassing Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Norway. I love everything about it, especially the way the various structures are spaced out and snuggled together, with that great drop downhill at the far right It was done in the 1880s, about the same time that painter Paul Signac became aware of Henri Rousseau, and "Naive Art" came into fashion.
Very good antique condition. The images here are a bit yellow-pinker than the actual drawing.. 3" x 5 1/8".
