The 29th edition of the Long Trail Guide, the most comprehensive and up-to-date reference for hiking in Vermont, is now available for purchase from the Green Mountain Club. With new, easier-to-read maps and information charts, updated hike planning resources and stewardship guidelines, and reliable, detailed trail descriptions, the guide is ready to help you plan your summer adventures!

The guidebook, first published in 1917, was last released in 2017. The 2025 edition reflects major shifts in the outdoor recreation world and a boom of backcountry construction, resulting in numerous new and/or improved shelters and campsites.
