A whisky maturation never done before at Stauning Whisky. This smoked single malt has been matured in a full-bodied Italian Amarone red wine cask to explore the influence of a robust red wine cask. Made from 100% locally sourced, floor-malted barley dried in a kiln with Danish peat and heather, and created in a grain-to-glass distillery that honours traditional production methods to develop a spirit with true depth and character.

In 2020, this French oak cask that previously held Italian Amarone was filled with Stauning's smoked single malt, allowing the whisky to evolve & develop its unique character over time.

Stauning Smoke single malt has notes of meadow honey, rosemary, thyme, fresh hay, campfire, fresh tobacco, citrus & malty sweetness. The Amarone cask adds rich flavours of dried fruits like figs, plums and raisins, followed by notes of chocolate, toffee & subtle nutty undertones.
