New for 2026, Hamilton has dipped into its extensive archives to re-introduce a modern Khaki Field Mechanical variant of the legendary FAPD 5101 Type 1, a remarkable timepiece with extraordinary military heritage. Originally issued in the late sixties to U.S. Air Force navigators, it featured a distinctive 36mm parkerized case and the exclusive Hamilton caliber 684 movement found only in this particular model, putting it a step above its standard field watch brethren in terms of accuracy, corrosion resistance, and overall dependability in operation. 

Every detail of this 36mm reproduction has been meticulously crafted to maintain the authentic character of the original while incorporating subtle modern enhancements. The acrylic box glass mirrors the 1970s military specification, chosen for its superior impact resistance and field replaceability, now enhanced with a hard coating for improved scratch resistance and anti-fingerprint treatment. True to the original design, the fixed bars are soldered directly to the case for maximum security, eliminating spring bars and ensuring NATO straps remain secure under the most demanding conditions. An internal dust cover replicates the original military construction, further protecting the movement from harsh environmental elements just as it did for Air Force navigators over half a century ago.
