When repairs cannot wait for warmer weather, or when high-traffic areas demand a fast return to service without compromise, EverKrete 102 delivers. This flexible Thermoset Vinyl Polymer binder allows for the rapid creation of tough, durable concrete mortars and overlays, even priming cold surfaces down to -18°C. It's built for conditions where conventional binders would fail, ensuring repairs last.

Why this product exists

EverKrete 102 is designed as a flexible Thermoset Vinyl Polymer resin binder for the EverKrete Concrete Repair System. It forms robust EverKrete mortars when mixed with kiln-dried aggregates and sand, or a tough, slip-resistant surface overlay when sand saturated. This formulation provides excellent weathering, resists re-emulsification once cured, and doubles as a concrete primer for surfaces between -18°C and +15°C, ensuring reliable performance across a wide temperature range.

The numbers that matter

  • Application Temperature Range: -18°C to +35°C – This broad range means concrete repairs or overlays can proceed in freezing conditions, minimising project delays and enabling year-round work in challenging environments like cold storage facilities.
  • Final Drying Time: 45–90 minutes – Rapid cure at 25°C means industrial floors, loading docks, and factory repairs can be returned to service quickly. This significantly reduces downtime and operational disruption.
  • Solids by Weight: Approx. 99% – A high solids content ensures minimal shrinkage during cure and contributes to a dense, durable repair with excellent long-term performance. The repair holds its form and integrity.
  • Linear Shrinkage (Unfilled): 1.1% – Low shrinkage ensures the cured mortar maintains tight contact with the substrate, reducing stress and preventing common failure points such as delamination or cracking in the repair itself.

What it's like to use

Using EverKrete 102 involves precise mixing and application. Begin by pre-mixing the contents with a power mixer to ensure uniformity. Accurately measure EverKrete Catalyst and add it to EverKrete 102, mixing for 30–60 seconds. The standard ratio is 2 parts Catalyst to 100 parts EverKrete 102, with an option for 3:100 for a faster cure.

For substrate temperatures below +10°C, or when a faster cure is critical, EverKrete Accelerator can be used, added after the resin is catalysed. Always catalyse EverKrete 102 before adding kiln-dried sand or aggregates. Tools can be cleaned with acetone for a neat finish and proper maintenance.

Where this product excels

  • Cold Storage Facilities: It cures effectively in temperatures down to -18°C, making it ideal for repairing concrete in freezers and chillers without needing to raise the ambient temperature.
  • Industrial Floors and Loading Docks: The rapid cure time and durable finish make it suitable for high-traffic areas, minimising costly downtime for critical operations.
  • Concrete Under Membranes or Tiles: As a fill or filler, EverKrete 102 provides a stable and durable base for concrete preparation in areas destined for membrane or tile finishes.
  • Slip-Resistant Surface Overlays: It acts as a tough, weather-resistant binder for broadcast aggregates, creating textured safety surfaces for ramps, walkways, or areas requiring enhanced grip.

How it fits in a real system

EverKrete 102 commonly serves as the main repair or overlay component within the broader EverKrete Concrete Repair System. It is frequently specified to follow an initial prime with EverKrete Primer, forming the essential second step in the repair sequence. This ensures optimal adhesion and substrate preparation before the main EverKrete 102 application.

Choose this when

  • When you need to create tough, durable concrete mortars or surface overlays.
  • When the application requires rapid return to service, often within an hour.
  • When working in cold conditions, as it can be applied down to -18°C.
  • When requiring a reliable primer for concrete in cold temperatures.
  • When filling or preparing concrete substrates under membrane-covered, tiled areas.

Don't use this when

  • Not for: Surface temperatures below -18°C or above +35°C. Performance is compromised outside this range.
  • Not for: Damp, wet, or contaminated substrates, or if rain is imminent. Proper adhesion requires a clean, dry surface.
  • Not for: Applications where the surface temperature is below +10°C without EverKrete Accelerator. The accelerator is critical for proper cure in colder conditions.

This product is classified as a Dangerous Good (Class 3, Hazchem 3Y) and a Hazardous Chemical. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) including overalls, gloves, chemical goggles, and an organic vapour/particulate respirator are essential during handling and application. Ensure adequate ventilation in the work area to mitigate risks associated with flammable liquid and vapour, as well as potential respiratory irritation. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full health and safety information.
