This Latvian real photo postcard captures a wonderfully delicate, gray-scale watercolor of an insect--an Amphorophoza rhinandlis Schout, it appears to me, which I'd guess was likely rendered by the sender, who has included what seem to be specific notes about it, so one would guess he was an entomologist. I love the thought of this postcard being sent as a means of communicating new findings about this particular species, and like to imagine a desk spread out with dozens of similarly gorgeous watercolors detailing all of our sender's studies!
It appears to be April 2, 1930 and is in very good condition. 3 1/4" x 5 1/2" and really lovely.
