A rare and magnificent antique treasure that dates from the early to mid 1800’s. 

The large puffy heart clasp or padlock is made in a gold fill that is buttery and warm in tone. 

When in use and being worn, the gold tone stays vibrant and beautiful.  The surface of these antique gold-filled clasps are durable and long lasting, noting that after decades of wear, the base brass coppery metal appears at certain points.  This visual disappears when the padlock is in use, allowing the gold tone of the locket to truly shine.

Because gold-filled items contain a substantial amount of real gold, they have a heavier feel than plated items.

The heart padlock clasp is detailed with a rosette of Turquoise and Chrysoprase and Ruby gemstones. 

It is such a sweet and gorgeous near 200 year old treasure, which was a popular lock worn to secure both chain necklaces and chain bracelets. 

This treasured heart padlock opens and closes securely and has dimensions of 33mm high x 17mm wide x 14mm “fat”. The clasp weighs a good 4.9 grams.
