The MC410 combines two intelligent vision systems to deliver accurate, high-speed placement across an exceptionally wide range of SMD components—from ultra-miniature 01005s to large parts up to 100 x 150 mm. Smaller and fine-pitch components are aligned using a high-speed, head-mounted Cognex® on-the-fly vision system, while larger devices are processed with a base-mounted upward-looking camera for precise alignment and placement. This dual-camera approach helps optimize both speed and accuracy without compromising flexibility.
The MC410 runs on the same proven Windows®-based software platform used across the entire MC Series, refined through years of customer-driven development. Flexible programming options—including CAD import, manual teaching, and direct entry—allow operators to create jobs quickly while reducing setup complexity. A built-in virtual PCB simulator verifies placement data before production begins, helping minimize errors and speed up first-board validation.
During operation, the software provides real-time visibility into production performance, including pick camera images, machine status, placement progress, and throughput. Operators can make adjustments directly from the production screen without interrupting workflow, helping maintain uptime and productivity.
The MC410 is engineered to support both prototype assembly and full production workflows without requiring separate systems or retraining. With placement rates up to 2,500 CPH (IPC-9850), support for up to 84 feeder slots, and precision mechanical components such as X-Y ballscrews and Smart Feeders, the system delivers reliable performance for growing production demands. Intelligent software optimization automatically improves feeder placement and assembly sequencing to maximize throughput.
Because the MC410 shares the same software environment, feeders, and operational structure as all MC-Series machines, scaling production is straightforward. Programs transfer seamlessly between systems, feeders remain interchangeable, and operators can continue working within the same familiar interface.
The MC410 can be configured to support a wide range of production requirements, making it well suited for prototyping, low-volume production, and mixed assembly environments. The system supports waffle trays, cut strip holders, reel feeders, and bulk component handling, allowing users to work efficiently without committing to full reels for every job.
Its Semi-Automatic mode provides additional flexibility for loose or specialty components by enabling manual pickup, orientation, and placement directly from bulk trays. With multiple feeder formats and extensive slot capacity, the MC410 adapts easily to changing assembly needs.
