The rim is made from Russian Pine timber and the Hardboard is oil tempered both sides.

This has few options:

Treated: The wooden rim has been wax dipped in Microcrystalline wax. this will preserve the timber increasing its longevity. 

Untreated: The wooden rim is in its natural state and untreated

21mm: Standard hive mat thickness

40mm: thicker rim to allow space under the board for bees to go into if it is a full hive.
